The Fish Stick is a Boss Salmonid in Splatoon 3’s Salmon Run: The Next Wave. The enemy was introduced in the Nintendo Direct on February 9th, 2022.^[1] It is a long pillar with flying Smallfries connected to it which circle around the pillar and squirt out enemy ink.

Appearance

The Fish Stick is a flying pillar (controlled by little Smallfries) that impales into the ground. The Smallfry are connected to the very top of the pillar, and they shoot out enemy ink via the nozzle on their mouth.

Behavior

The Fish Stick, controlled by Salmonids fly onto the scene and impales the floor. Then, the Salmonids connected rotate around and shoot ink everywhere, similar to a Sprinkler.

Strategy

The Smallfries are the key to defeating. But, for most weapons they are too high up to attack. So in order to splat this foe, the player must ink and swim up the pillar and splat each individual.

Trivia

• The name Fish Stick comes from a snack of the same name.
• The song they sing is to encourage the other Salmonids in battle.
• The song is similar to Completion from the Octo Expansion.
• The Smallfry are trained to increase their lung capacity, and some are even recruited to become Stingers.^[2]
