Keys are an item/function that is used to open vaults. They can be found in the open, in crates, or appear after splatting an enemy. Keys are used in Splatoon 1 Octo Valley, Splatoon 2 Octo Canyon and Octo Expansion, and Splatoon 3 Return of The Mammalians
Function
Keys are collected by running into them. A small key will appear at the bottom corner of the screen. Keys are used to open vaults that can carry various items and enemies. Vaults can be opened by walking near them.
Appearance
A key resembles a crab with its claws interlocked at the top. There are two blue spheres below the claws. The lower part of the item resembles an actual key. They are all gold in color and have a yellow aura and yellow particles.
