Nintendo Switch is the successor to the Wii U, a console designed to be both played at home and in a portable form. It is the home of Splatoon 2 and Splatoon 3. On the 20th of September 2019, a version of the Switch called the Nintendo Switch Lite was released, which was an entirely portable version. Recently, rumours have been spreading about the development of a Nintendo Switch Pro, or a Switch 2. However, instead, a Nintendo Switch OLED model was released.

The Switch has sold 114 million units worldwide[1], making it the second best selling Nintendo home console after the Wii. In comparison, its predecessor, the Wii U, Nintendo's last console, only sold 13.56 million copies.
